A quick look to INSPIRE

GIS is changing rapidly. Opendata movement is in continuous development and OGC standard are a solid foundation for service building.

Europe is moving rapidly for change. INSPIRE is an EU initiative to establish an infrastructure for spatial information in Europe that will help to make spatial or geographical information more accessible and interoperable for a wide range of purposes supporting sustainable development.

INSPIRE directive aim to build a solid framework for a spatial data infrastructure (SDI) dedicated to environmental policies and any activity which involve the environment.

INSPIRE ensures that SDI of the states are compatible and usable in all over the Europe and even in other countries. It makes a set of Implementing Rules mandatory in order to manage Metadata, Interoperability of spatial data sets and services, Network Services, Data and Service Sharing and Monitoring and Reporting.

3DGIS products aim to be INSPIRE compliant.
